Christmas Festivities at London’s Winter Wonderland
This year, why not enjoy the Christmas
season with the entire family at
London’s Hyde Park Winter Wonderland?
This exciting outdoor event was a
huge success last year with over half a million visitors
attending and this year promises to be even bigger and better.
Key attractions include London’s largest ice skating rink, the iconic
53m giant wheel with its superb views of the city, a longer and
faster toboggan slide and the ever popular, authentic German
market.
Doubling in size from last year, the German
market will entail wooden chalets lit up with Christmas lights,
selling a selection of culinary delights from mulled wine to
German sausages.
Also on offer are original arts and
crafts that could make for delightful Christmas gifts.
There’s plenty for the kids to enjoy from
traditional rides such as the Haunted House, carousels and a
helter skelter, and for the slightly more adventurous, the
Reindeer Express, Cup & Saucers and the Wonderland Ride.
Of course no Winter Wonderland would be
complete without a trip to Santa’s Grotto.
There’s no charge to see Santa and
the boys and girls who have been good all year will receive a
small gift.
It is advisable to pre-book tickets for the
ice rink and the giant wheel as tickets sell out quickly.
The Winter Wonderland is free to
enter and is open 10am-10pm every day from 22 November 2008 to 4
January 2009.
Tokens can be purchased for the
rides and attractions.
The Kensington Court Hotel Bayswater
provides good value, budget accommodation for families and is
ideally located just a few minutes walk from
Hyde Park and the Winter Wonderland.
