Kensington Court Hotel Bayswater:
The
place to stay for the
Notting Hill Carnival
Kensington Court Hotel Bayswater provides good value, budget
accommodation ideally located for the Notting Hill Carnival.
This year’s Notting Hill Carnival will take place 24-25 August
and will attract in excess of 2 million visitors. The carnival
started in 1964 as an off shoot of the Trinidad Carnival and has
since grown to the biggest street carnival in Europe, second
only to Rio’s Mardi Gras Carnival.
Flamboyant dancers, steel bands, reggae and floats filled with
partying people travel along the 5km (3 mile) parade route.
Music of all varieties can be heard as rigs pump out ska and
reggae to hip-hop, funk and soul.
Children’s Day is held on the Bank Holiday Sunday with all bands
and performers under 21. The route is slightly shorter to
accommodate the young artists. Monday is the main carnival day
with activities on from 12pm to late.
Hundreds of stalls line the streets selling food and drink from
Jerk Chicken to Jamaican patties and curries.
The Notting Hill Carnival is one of the best free days out in
London. The area gets extremely busy so allow plenty of time to
get around.
For those visiting London this August, the Kensington Court
Hotel Bayswater offers great value accommodation in the heart of
Notting Hill and Bayswater, a perfect place to stay while
visiting the Notting Hill Carnival.
